Patienterstatningen

Patienterstatningen is the Danish national authority responsible for handling compensation claims from patients who experienced injury or harm within the public healthcare system. Operating at the intersection of healthcare, medicine, and law, Patienterstatningen plays a key role in ensuring fair and impartial case handling grounded in professionalism, expertise, and humanity.

Tasked with modernising the visual identity, we developed a visual language balancing institutional authority with human accessibility, while remaining approachable to patients, healthcare professionals, and the wider public. Core elements include a new logo with a clear narrative, a refined typographic voice, a refreshed colour palette optimised for digital accessibility, and a custom illustration style with a calm, human expression. Together, these elements support communication across contexts, from complex case handling to public-facing information.

The result is a contemporary public-sector identity defined by clarity and accessibility rather than visual excess – confident in tone, yet human and approachable in expression.
