ByWho by Re-public

In connection with creating the visual identity for the new Chinese fashion brand called ByWho, we have also been asked to design a series of t-shirts, which will be included in the first collection. Inspired by the optical phenomenon called moiré, we have created a series of graphic patterns, varying in form and color over the same basic theme.

A moiré pattern occurs when two similar, complex patterns are superimposed and slightly offset from each other. In the printing industry, a moiré effect is an undesired artifact of images, which occurs due to inaccurate turning of raster points in one or more colors. But the phenomenon can also be deliberately achieved to create aesthetically beautiful abstract patterns.

The t-shirts will be available for sale by fall 2012.
